Important Notice:

Dr Clark and Dr Bhargava will not be running their daily clinics. We kindly request patients to call up on the day to book and be mindful that they may be allocated an appointment with other Doctors working for the Practice.

The surgery has no ‘walk in’ facility. An appointment is required for all consultations. Please telephone the surgery in advance.

When making an appointment by telephone our call handlers will ask the reason for your appointment. This is not to pry or interpret clinically it is just to help direct you to the most appropriate person for your needs. Your help with this would be appreciated but if the reason for your appointment is particularly personal please state this.

Routine appointments / On the Day Appointments

Routine Appointments to see a Doctor can be made up to two weeks in advance -subject to availability. Some of these appointments may be available online.

Most Doctors' appointments are given "on the day" and are available when the phone lines open at 08:00am, Monday - Friday.

To help ensure you get the most appropriate appointment our call handlers will ask you for a few details. If these are personal and private please say, otherwise your cooperation helps us serve you more efficiently.

** Please note that appointments must not be booked for GPs to sign paperwork / forms etc. All form filling requests must be logged via the reception department. A minimum of 5 clear working days is requested for clearance.

Urgent Appointments

If an appointment is required urgently you may be asked to provide a contact number for the Doctor to call you back and assess your medical needs over the telephone or you may be asked to come down to the surgery directly.

Evening & Weekend Appointments

Evening and Weekend appointments are now held at the extended hours service located at Bharani Medical Centre, 16-18 Lansdowne Avenue, Slough, SL1 3SJ.  More information can be found via the website Slough Extended Hours Service

Telephone Consultations

The surgery offers on the day telephone consultations for discussing any information relating to your care with either a GP, Practice nurse or Pharmacist. You may find this a useful way of accessing medical advice rather than taking the time to attend in person. The surgery is happy to make a call back on mobile, landline or work telephone numbers in the UK. - If you do take advantage of this facility please make sure that you keep yourselves free to take a call.

At times there may be extenuating circumstances and the clinics may be relocated to Herschel Medical Practice and this will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Practice Nurse & Health Care Assistants

Our Practice Nurses, supported by Health Care Assistants, are available Monday to Friday.

Appointments can be made at reception or by telephoning the surgery.

Practice Nurse appointments can be made up to 4 weeks in advance - subject to availability.

Clinical areas covered are: injections, immunisations, ear syringing, dressings, ECGs, asthma, diabetes, blood pressure, family planning, cervical smears, menopause management and new patient health checks.

Cancelling appointments and Failure to Attend

According to figures, patients miss around 10 million GP appointments and 5 million practice nurse appointments each year which cost the NHS about £180 million pounds. We understand that you may feel better and decide not to turn up for your appointment or you may just forget the time and date of the appointment but it is really important that you notify the surgery if you are unable to attend.

To help with reducing missed appointments the surgery uses modern technology to send text message to patients informing you about a forthcoming appointment. Please ensure we hold your correct telephone number and mobile number.

If you cannot attend an appointment please let us know as soon as possible in order for the slot to be given to someone else.
